The energy was there but the sound mix held Sahara Hotnights back

Sahara Hotnights brought plenty of energy to Mosebacketerrassen, but the bass-heavy sound mix often left the vocals and guitars lacking clarity. The set, lasting just over an hour, was performed to a relatively sparse and noticeably older audience, suggesting that the band’s return has yet to attract a significant new generation of listeners.

The Waterboys with Steve Earle at Filadelfia Convention Center

The Waterboys scored an instant knockout when they visited Stockholm on Tuesday evening as part of their Fisherman’s Blues Revue tour. On this tour, the band is also joined by former member Steve Wickham on fiddle, as well as Roar Øien on pedal steel. The concert was divided into two halves. After the interval, Steve Earle also joined them—a collaboration that proved to be a winning concept.
